It's been forever since my last post. The adjustment to our new home has been rougher than I expected, especially for me. The kids are good and seem to like it here better but there have been some pretty big bumps in the road for Harrison at school. Hopefully with a bit more time and some hard work we can get him headed in the right direction. Henry has made lots of friends but I was irritated to hear about namecalling on the bus, gggggrrrrrr! Sometimes kids are just so mean! Bridget is getting bigger and smarter by the minute. Her first word is Da-da and she uses it in the right context, it's so darn cute I can't even be upset that it wasn't ma-ma. She also shakes her head NO, it's pretty funny. She is a smarty pants for sure!

The sweetest thing
Happy Birthday to ME!!!!
Who knew talking about tragedy could be so healing and bring women together? I had an awesome birthday gathering last night with mom and Lauren, you think by the subject matter we spent the evening discussing it would have been a big downer but it wasn't, not at all! We had planned to get together and watch the SAG Awards and talk trash about all the beautiful people but us three? We couldn't stop yapping long enough to see anyone saunter down the red carpet let alone accept an award. I went to bed thinking, we're three pretty tough broads! Thanks girls for sharing my Bday with me and reminding me why you're my favorite girls in the world!

Happy Birthday Ariel!
You are in my thoughts and prayers EVERYDAY, not a day has passed in 19 years where I didn't feel you in my heart. I am so proud of your accomplishments. Hope your day is fabulous.

"Mommy I'm sooooo beautiful!"
This is what happened when I asked Natalie to play quietly for a bit so I could watch the inauguration. She indeed was quiet. I couldn't be mad, it was hilarious! She is quite the make-up artist, watch for her at the next Fashion Week! Bad news was it took some time and creativity to get all that off and I was afraid of hurting her eyes so that is still kinda on. She really IS like her mom, I did the same thing when I was young!

Depression
It's evil. It robs you of everything, your happiness, you desire to do the things you love, your health, your self worth. I've been struggling lately, anytime there is a break in my blogging it's a pretty good indication that the black cloud is hanging over me. I finally feel like I'm "coming back" which is how I refer to the black cloud leaving and feeling like myself again. The first indicator was that yesterday I felt hopeful for the first time in weeks. Looking forward to things to come. Afterall I am very blessed.

Our new home!!!
Well after much soul searching we did in fact make the decision to move from FH to Sherwood. As most people who know me know, it's not exactly what I wanted but in my heart knew it was the best thing for our family. The boys are doing great and love their new schools. They even knew people from nana's church so that made it easier. Both boys and Nat have also made neighborhood friends, so cute Nat has a little friend who lives 2 doors down. It is very nice to have a real neighborhood, it seemed FH had become a ghost town someone else was bailing out and selling their home nearly everyday. Letting the boys out to do normal boy things like riding bikes or skateboarding stressed me out so bad and was nearly impossible because we were surrounded by steep hills in every direction.
It is good here, it really is. Our home is beautiful and we are settling in quite nicely.

Happy Christmas!!!!
What a fab 36 hours! We left our home in Forest Heights yesterday morning around 10am. We had SOOOO much snow up here I wasn't sure we would make it to my parents house in Wilsonville. It was a slippidy slidey drive there and many places where I just closed my eyes and prayed we'd be ok, low and behold we made it safe and sound.

Cabin Fever!
We have been stuck here in the house for a week now. The boys were out of school all of last week. It's been tough keeping everyone entertained. It seems all we do is eat and watch tv, I've run out of creative ideas mostly because I am soooo exhausted, the girls haven't been sleeping at night. Last night when I thought I had finally gotten the girls to sleep, in my bed of course, Natalie taps me on the shoulder and says "Mommy I cleaned the potty with the toilet wand". Yep she was cleaning the bathroom at 3 AM! Ryan and Henry have ventured off into the frozen white tundra. We are unable to drive down the hill so the are meeting someone at the bottom of the hill, lucky them, I need to get out of here soon before I lose what's left off my mind at this point. It has started snowing again this morning and we expect about2-3 more inches today.

Snow!!!!!
We got our first snow here in Portland yesterday. The kids are having a blast playing in it, especially Natalie who loves the "snowcakes"(snowflakes) and building Mr Snowman. Yesterday was just a light dusting but today is super cold and windy. The snow is practically coming down sideways and hasn't let up all day. The forest and snow is the thing I'll miss most about living in the West Hills.
